“Amazing is this restaurant’s ability to incorporate upscale elements that do not
compromise its understated charm. The food is delicious, the prices are right,
and the atmosphere is tasteful. However, eat early! The Tea Shoppe is usually
closed by 5:30.”

Review:
Warm and inviting, The Tea Shoppe in Mashpee
Commons is truly the picture of European elegance. Fancy
floral linens and dainty chinaware provide an excellent
backdrop for the Tea Shoppe’s classy customers, who often
dine in their Sunday best.
The menu in the tea salon is excellent; brimming with
enticing options and fairly affordable prices. Sampled was
the Shepherd’s Pie, a Tea Shoppe specialty that captured the
lure of Britain with delicious mashed potatoes, crisp
vegetables, and succulent ground beef. If you don’t have a
taste for Shepherd’s Pie, you can still be wowed by other
English-inspired dishes like quiches, seafood pasties,
finger sandwiches, salads, and soups. While the Tea Shoppe’s
lunch options are tempting, it is the tea menu that is a
nonpareil. Although the robust “Mountain Kenya” was sampled,
the menu also has choices for those who prefer their teas to
be fruity or herbal. All orders arrive in a personal kettle
with a cute tea cozy, and are brewed with loose leaves and
charcoal-filtered water for an added pop of flavor. For
dessert, a raspberry scone (The Tea Shoppe’s pride and joy)
was opted for. As if the fluffy biscuit and sugared berries
did not suffice, the scone was accompanied by little dishes
of cream and fresh preserves. On the way out, many customers
choose to take home a little piece of Tea Shoppe goodness by
purchasing from the affiliated bakery and gift shop.
