I've visited The Painted Lady on
multiple occasions and have always had an
extremely positive experience. Cozier and less expensive than
it's sister
restaurant, the Belfry, The Painted Lady's menu has something
for everyone. My personal favorites include the gazpacho
(slightly spicy with yellow tomatoes, the chicken pot pie (huge
portion) and the warm steak tip and bleu cheese wrap (grilled
with grape tomatoes and mushrooms). The dressed up version of
macaroni and cheese is also very good. Some entrees, like the
grilled beef, seem overpriced for how much you get, but the
wraps (at $9) are a good value. The decor is reminiscent of a
living room, with large, comfortable leather chairs and unique
art. Definitely geared more towards women then men. The
restaurant and bathroom have been extremely clean, and I've
always had very good service, the waitresses are personable and
knowledgeable about the menu. Last time I visited, the waitress
brought us samples of the soup of the day (a chilled strawberry
mint). Definitely recommended when visiting Sandwich, a great
pick for lunch with the girls or a light dinner with cocktails.
