“Hearth n’ Kettle, available in Falmouth, Hyannis, South Yarmouth, and Orleans, is the ideal choice for a Sunday brunch with the whole family. However, bear in mind that it is a safe choice. Its traditional elements may leave customers wishing that they had opted for a more lively and creative restaurant.”

With locations sprinkled throughout the peninsula, Hearth n’ Kettle restaurants have won the affections of all ages with a nurturing wait staff, home-style cuisine, and relaxed dining area. Held to the high standards of the locally operated Catania Hospitality Group, Heart n’ Kettle’s menus embrace the “Cape Cod Fresh” cooking philosophy: wholesome and health-conscious. Featured among the tempting host of dishes are cranberry roast chicken, seafood medley, and sweet potato pancakes. Personally, I was beckoned by the raspberry French toast with a side of bacon. The French toast was hearty and cooked to perfection; the bacon was without much fat and (wow!) fully cooked. I was pleasantly surprised by both the large portion and the lovely embellishments of raspberry butter and whole fruit.

With a strong presence of home cooking character and also fine restaurant quality, my Hearth and Kettle breakfast truly represented the best of both worlds. Although the last call for raspberry French toast is at 3pm, Hearth n’ Kettle uniquely offers an abbreviated breakfast menu until close that includes bagel sandwiches and portabella veggie omelets. To match the comfort of the food, the booth seating at the Falmouth location (as tested) was private, roomy, and furnished with idyllic Cape Cod paintings and mood lighting. The prices at Hearth n’ Kettle run fairly low considering the large portions. Most breakfasts are in the $8 range, and it is entirely possible to enjoy an excellent dinner entrée for $10.
