"The Clam
Shack is a dining landmark on Cape Cod that is visited by
locals and tourists alike. Even if you are not a seafood person,
just go and order
French Fries… the view is incredible. Keep in mind that the Clam
Shack does not dish out heaping portions, and is slightly
overpriced."

Review:
When asked what the first item is
on their Cape visit agenda, many experienced
tourists will respond “order a strip plate from the Clam Shack!”
Located on Falmouth Harbor, the Clam Shack has been providing
discriminating tongues with seafood fixes for decades. I ordered
a steaming plate of fried clams, which came in a modest portion
and with a high price tag. However, the clams were the best that
I have tasted on Cape Cod. The breading was crisp and crunchy; a
refreshing contrast to the sogginess of your average strip. The
clams were so fresh that tarter sauce, salt, and lemon juice
became unnecessary. The indoor dining room is rather cramped, so
most customers choose to bring their meals to the quaint picnic
tables on the dock. It is on the dock that you will relish in
the breathtaking views of sail boats, sunsets, and waves that
the Clam Shack is famous for. The only setback? You may have to
chase away a few hungry seagulls. This restaurant prides itself
on a carefree atmosphere, so do not hesitate to bring the kids
along. It opens on Memorial Day, so if you want to avoid the
lines, make your visit before July rolls around.
