“Bobby
Byrne's Sandwich location offers good homestyle meals and a huge
menu in a casual setting.”
I had dinner at the Bobby Byrne's Restaurant and Pub
location between Route 6A and Tupper Road in Sandwich on a quiet
Sunday evening. Other than being a walk from the Cape Cod Canal
and the Sandwich Marina, the location is less than ideal, at the
end of a strip mall in the Stop 'n' Shop Plaza, but once you are
inside you will quickly forget where you are. Billing itself as
an "eating, drinking, and talking establishment," its casual
comfort invites people of all ages to dine.
Coming here you can choose from two casual dining
settings. The front room offers the bar and a pub/sports bar
atmosphere, with booths, bar seating, Keno, sports on the flat
screens around the room, and a full compliment of alcoholic
beverages. The dining room provides a more family oriented
dining experience. Cozy decor made for a comforting ambiance,
but extraordinarily dim lighting made me question the
cleanliness of the place. The bathrooms, however, proved
otherwise. I had plenty to choose from given Bobby Byrne's vast
menu, but tonight I opted for something simple. The classic
hamburger, as ordered, came with all the fixings and friendly
but not very fast service. The meal was delicious, though, and I
enjoyed the experience. Probably not the best for families on
weekend nights or the night of the big game, but otherwise I
recommend Bobby Byrne's for everyone.
