Nauset Light
Located a short ways up the coast from Coast Guard, Nauset Light
Beach consists of a broad, sandy beach that is contained by a
steep sand cliff behind it. As with all beaches along this
stretch of the coast the views down the beach of the dunes and
water are breathtaking. A long, towering wooden stairway
descends to the sands from the parking lot. This is a great spot
for families and people of all ages, and is ideal for swimming,
surfing, and body surfing. Lifeguards keep careful watch. A
classic and historic lighthouse, Nauset Light, used to be
located on the top of the cliff. Due to erosion it was moved
about 300 feet further inland in 1996, and is adjacent to the
parking lot entrance. Nauset Light Beach is part of the Cape Cod
National Seashore.
